That Sunset Over My Heart

As the big orange
In the sky falls in the west
My heart falls to the west
To never return again

As I fall apart in the sands
of time
I die
As she fades and
the angels take her away

My princess as beautiful
As wonderful she is
I feel her in my heart
I wish I could touch the thoughts
Of others
I sense her all around me.

But she is afar as the stars
Remembering all that we have done these
Mid-summer nights
In the heat
Under the stars
with my heart always with her
Always with the beauty of her thoughts

I peer into her love and beauty
She fades like the shimmer of light
As it becomes dusk where the last of her
Goes with the sun
Back down under the horizon

As a tear drops it is evaporated

But reborn in the sky as rain

Her beauty upon my skin
